Six years of webcomicky goodness!Cast
It all looks so normal at first. Annoying customers, insane coworkers, your typical retail-type shenanigans. But how well can ordinary retail drones working at a Toymania toy store cope when reality goes sideways on them?
These, then, are the people who have to cope. In order of appearance, and as spoiler-free as possible:
![]() | Robert W. Cunningham. He has, among other traits,
the ability to openly mock customers without infuriating them, and a tendency to angst over things
he really had no control over. SPOILER ALERT! He is not
destined to save the world. In fact, he tends to goof up any attempts at heroism. First Appearance! |
![]() | Elwood Jackson Schiff. The general consensus
is that, while Jack is clearly nuts, it is an insanity of a mostly harmless sort. One ignores
him at one's own risk, however. First Appearance! |
![]() | Stephanie Maxwell. Easily the most level-headed of
the Toymania staff. Not that it helps her deal with the type of customer who needs to make use of
the Customer Service desk. First Appearance! |
![]() | Kendall Tyrell. In many ways she's the archetypal
Mean Boss(TM). Unlike so many others of her type, she's not evil, just generally grumpy. It works for
her, though: as a manager, she's technically subordinate to the Store Director, but there's no question
who's really in charge. First Appearance! |
![]() | Darby Reynolds. Generally the feisty sort, with a sarcastic
streak a mile wide. There are other sides to her, although few at the store ever get to see them. First Appearance! |
![]() | Scarlett Perkins. Also known as Agent Rodgers of the Time Line Authority. She disagreed with their preservationist policies, and is currently paying the price for her folly. |
![]() | Sam Tucker looks like a common thug. This was done on
purpose, in the hopes that people will judge the book by it's cover. He's a lot smarter than he lets on.
So smart, in fact, that a certain invention could revolutionize the world. Or destroy it. First Appearance! |
![]() | Drake Derringer. Nicknamed "Deranged", and if the
hints are to be believed, it's more than just a clever play on his name. What we know for sure is that
the time travelers seem to think he's sensitive to the timestream the way others may be sensitive to
heights or enclosed spaces. And, he often seems to know what's really going on. First Appearance! |
![]() | While no longer a blatant criminal, it may be safely
assumed that Bert is always up to something. He spends his shifts in the storeroom, alternately amused
and befuddled by the wacky antics that take place back there. First Appearance! |
![]() | Leonard Zachary is the head of the Shanafelt City Council.
It has been suggested that he dreams of being a Bond-style villain--the goon squad in his employ and his
seeming grudge against a certain toy store don't seem to argue against that idea. First Appearance! |
![]() | Tandy (which probably isn't her real name) is one of those
scientist-types who only pops up in fiction. A genius with working knowledge of everything from biochemistry
to temporal mechanics, it's unknown whether she has the skillset necessary to fix a shipwrecked boat. She puts
her knowledge to use under the employ of Leonard Zachary. In a position unrelated to his duties running the city. First Appearance! |
![]() | Maureen is the one person working at the toy store that everyone can rely on. No matter what task she's given, she has a ready-made excuse for not being able to do it. |
