While I'm Thinking About It
And now, a bit of equal time.
I don't want to leave the impression that Pilgrim was a horrific place to work. Far from it! My coworkers were, for the most part, wonderful people. Funny, brilliant, generally in agreement with regards to the certain annoyances that come from working retail. Even Roger, once you got used to him you would always know exactly where he stood on an issue, as well as how he came to his conclusions (as you may have noticed if you've read his blog). More to the point, he was never shy about letting you know where you stood with him. Which, after the tail end of my time at the toy store, as well as certain events that came after, was a very refreshing change of pace.
I may have been the only webcartoonist on staff at the bookstore, but not the only blogger. I don't think anyone would mind if I provide some linkage:
- Geek Theology, by JD.
- An Apocalypse from Fletcher. Also by JD, this one's a satire, so it might help to start from the very beginning to get the full effect.
- Raising Ebenezer, by Jonas, who is currently a youth pastor down in California.
- The Drama of Dogma, by Aaron.
- Sweetland Family, Michael's ongoing work in Slidell, LA, helping to rebuild after Katrina. Follow the Slidell Blog link for the most recent stuff.
