While I'm Thinking About It

It makes my head hurt.

Those of you over a certain age may remember the absurdly lethal game known variously as "lawn darts" or "Jarts." Younger folks may have been bored to tears listening to people who are clearly not old enough to qualify as either crotchety or cantankerous reminisce about the good old days when Slurpees were less than a buck and this was a staple of backyard summertime fun.

Except for the kids who died. No, I'm not kidding. Not making a joke here, either. This was a blatantly dangerous product and the US government was right to ban it on my thirteenth birthday.

Which is a coincidence I totally didn't know about until I looked it up just now on the Wikipedia.

Where was I?

Oh, right.

Apparently, only the sale of new lawn darts was banned. It seems to be perfectly legal to still hang on to your old sets, if you were to choose to ignore the government's warnings. And even get replacement parts pieces for your personal collection.

Am I the only person who gets a "nudge-nudge, wink-wink" sensation when perusing that site?
